Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing. (Is 40:26, emphasis added)
Look up at the sky on a clear night out in the country, and it’s hard not to believe that a very BIG and powerful Being created all this.
Yet our Creator knows and cares about the minutest details of our lives.
From the smallest feature of a flower to the vastness of the oceans; from the #hairs on our heads to who we will marry, and everything in between—our God is aware and cares.
No event or deed is insignificant to Him.
He is orchestrating so many things behind the scenes it is staggering. Consider the myriad of actions, thoughts, and interactions with other people in just one person’s life (Ps 139). Then multiply that by all the people who have ever lived, are living, or will live. Think about that too long and you’re bound to get a headache. Our finite minds are not capable of such endless possibilities. Not so for our infinite God!
So often we don’t understand what God is doing. Well, no wonder! We simply cannot keep up with all that God is coordinating behind the curtain of tangibility. He is indeed working out all things together for good to those who love Him (Rom 8:28).
Nothing God does in us is insignificant.
From the smallest understanding of one of His freeing truths to a profound life-altering revelation—each specific truth important in the big scheme of things. Each helping us to:
- Draw closer to Him
- See the helplessness of our condition
- See how ugly and depraved we are next to a holy pure God
- Gain victory over temptation so we can be more like our Savior.
Each helping us to know our Creator.
Nor is anything that God does through us insignificant.
From saying a kind word to a stranger or doing mundane tasks for a loved one to sharing the Gospel with a lost soul so they can be eternally saved—each is an important detail of His overall plan.
Nor is any problem too small (or too big) for God.
From losing some of those numbered hairs on your head to a family tragedy. All of them matter to God and are equally easy for Him to handle (Jer 32:17). God is not too busy for even the tiniest of issues. Remember—He is limitless in all areas.
If your problem seems too big, then your God is too small in your eyes.
If your problem seems too small to “bother” God, then your concept of God is incorrect.

In all likelihood, you already know all this stuff. Now it’s time to act as if you really did believe it. God has given you a tiny mustard seed of faith so you can see a glimpse of His BIGness and His willingness to stoop down in genuine concern for you, His creation (Ps 113:5-7). Plant it so it can grow.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
(Ps 8:1, 3-4)
In what area of your life will you apply this knowledge? Can you rest in knowing that your BIG God is taking care of the smallest detail?
