Life is often like hiking up a steep mountain. It’s hard! But add a heavy backpack and you will certainly be huffing and puffing more. Perhaps you are struggling with the load you have to carry.

 Rooted in Eternity

As believers we are grafted onto the Eternal One whose roots are in a different world—a different realm. Our physical being isn’t there yet, but the spiritual part of us is. That’s what I believe “seated in the heavenly realms” means.

Taking a leap of faith is scary. But if we choose to completely depend upon God (i.e. trust), we need not remain feeling fearful. God wants to teach us how to actually relax and enjoy those times of freefall!

We don't have to remain fearful in these uncertain times. We can replace our fear with faith in God by recalling the times God has been faithful to us. Since He cannot change, we can KNOW He will come through again and again and again.

Understanding the gardening technique of grafting will give us great insight as to what Jesus meant in this rich metaphor of abiding in Christ the Vine. You don't have to be a gardener to grasp the analogy!
