Introduction

I want to trust God more. Don’t you?
 
When I read the list of faithful people in Hebrews 11, my soul longs to be like them. I want to be a woman of faith—not a woman of fear. I want to hear those beautiful words of my Savior when I see Him on the other side, “Well done, good and faithful servant! …Come share your master’s happiness” (Mat 25:21)!
 
There are many examples of faithful men and women who trusted God throughout history. You probably know people like that in your church and desire to be like them. But perhaps, deep down, you think that you could never be that godly.
We think these people are perfect and never fail—that they never doubt. I used to think like that until the Lord showed me from His Word that this was a lie.
 
Contrary to what most people believe, these faithful followers did waver. Just look at Abraham and King David. You can read the many times they failed to trust God and did things their own way. But they had a heart to be faithful to their one true God, and God honored that.
 
The Lord knows how hard it is for you and I to trust—especially when it comes to trusting Someone that we cannot see. People let us down, so we think God will too. But God is not like us! He is trustworthy. It is part of His character, of who He is. He cannot be anything but faithful.
 
“I will not violate my covenant…. I will never…fail to keep my promise to him. I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie.”
(Ps 89:33, 35 NLT)
 
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy to all he promises and loving toward all he has made.
(Ps 145:13; see also 2 Tim 2:13)
 
God wants us to believe—deep down in our souls—that He will come through on His promises; He wants us to trust Him. And He will not only show us how, but empower us to do it! He will give you the knowledge and the enabling you need to fulfill it—if you want it.
If you delight in Him, He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps 37:4).
 
So, then the question becomes, “Do you really want to trust God more?” If the answer is yes, then read on because God will show you how!

As a know-it-all college senior, I finally surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior…and now, several decades later, I am learning more and more to surrender to Him as the Lord of my life and allow Him to have complete sovereignty over it. It is such a freeing condition!

Yet as I read Trust God More and read Rose Noland’s deep-dive into the words and worlds of Belief, Faith, and Trust, I gained some tremendous insights into my Lord. In fact, I copied down some of those insights on my daily calendar as it was closer than a notepad!
