5 Reasons Why God’s Way is BEST

Angela lived her life her way ever since she could remember. Although raised in a Christian home, all she saw were hypocrites—including in the church. Being constantly surrounded by complaining, condemning, and criticizing people, Angela was led to think, “Why do life God’s way if that’s the result?!” Soon doubts about God’s care and power crept in. And re-enforced by evolutionary teaching, she even questioned the existence of God.

But Angela was miserable and didn’t know why. Gratefully, through a series of God-orchestrated events, her eyes were opened to the truth of Jesus Christ and chose to follow Him, no matter what that meant.

Although hard at times, she soon discovered that God’s way was indeed the best!

I’m sure many of you can relate to Angela. Actually that’s my story.

God has revealed His ways so we can not only know them, but follow them. And although He promises to help us choose His way, it’s not always easy to comply. We need some motivation to choose God’s way when it’s contrary to our way. So here are…

5 Reasons Why God’s Way is Best

1. God’s Way is best because there are astounding rewards both now and in the future for those who live God’s way.

And there are horrific consequences for those who do not.

These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe… so that you may enjoy long life. Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you…. (Deut 6:1-3)

The Bible is overflowing with verses on the benefits of following God. Here are just a few:

  • Eternal life
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Security in uncertain times (Ps 81:13-14)
  • Wisdom to make the right decisions (Pr 3:6)
  • Sweet fellowship with God and others
  • Deliverance from or sustaining in times of trouble
  • Satisfaction (Ps 63:5, Ps 81:16)
  • Prosperity/success
  • Excitement in life
  • Spiritual growth

In other words—the abundant life. If we don’t go God’s way, expect the opposite. Jesus came so that we could not only have eternal life, but a rich full one here (Jn 10:10). The choice is ours.

2. God’s Way is best because of His wisdom.

Since God is all knowing and all wise, He sees what’s ahead and knows all the ramifications of any path taken. Unlike us He cannot make a mistake.

“The wisdom of God tells us that God will bring about the best possible results, by the best possible means, for the most possible people, for the longest possible time.”1

3. God’s Way is best because His motive is pure, good and loving.

If we know that God is good and only wants the best for us, choosing His way will not be as hard ( Notice: I didn’t say that it would be easy!)

You are good and do only good. (Ps 119:68 NLT, emphasis added)

4. God’s Way is best because our lives will be the most productive eternally speaking.

God always has eternity in mind. Yes, He cares about our present hardship, but “God will not spare present pain at the expense of future results.”2

The eternal destiny of souls is way more important than current comfort. Think about it.

Knowing that your cooperation with God and doing life His way will help people get saved from hell or to grow spiritually is worth it! If you don’t think so, that’s a red flag! And I challenge you to closely examine your walk and your profession of faith.

5. God’s Way is best because it’s the only way God will get the glory due His name.

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Rev 4:11)

My friends, God can be trusted. Take the time to think on why His ways are best so you can follow and reap His great rewards!
